Thank you for your interest in manufacturing technology youth apprenticeships!

Manufacturing technology is an exciting, high-tech and high-paying industry. It's often overlooked, however, because it isn't as visible as construction or healthcare.

A youth apprenticeship in manufacturing technology is a unique opportunity to learn more about careers in the industry through on-the-job training and academic instruction. Not only do youth apprentices gain valuable experience, but they also earn pay and credits toward high school and possibly college.

Manufacturing Technology of Minnesota (MTM) has developed a comprehensive youth apprenticeship program for three cutting-edge industries: engineering, machining and fluid power (hydraulics & pneumatics).

Whether you're new to youth apprenticeship, or have been familiar with it for years, MTM is available to assist you with the questions you may have about development, implementation and assessment of the program. For more information, contact MTM at 763-566-6098.

[ get started ]

1. Before accessing the youth apprenticeship documents, you'll need to provide your contact information. (Note: your contact information is used for tracking purposes and will not be shared with any other entity.)
2. Download and review the youth apprenticeship documents.
3. Complete and submit the appropriate youth apprenticeship documents to MTM, 3131 Fernbrook Lane, Suite 102, Plymouth, MN 55434. MTM will review the documents and recommend approval for a state-registered program to the Department of Education.
4. Contact MTM at 763-566-6098 with questions or for assistance implementing the program.

[ benefits ]

If you are an educator, you have the opportunity to build lasting partnerships with employers in your area. In addition, you can ensure what is taught in the classroom will be applied on the job.

If you are an employer, you can build a source of skilled and motivated future employees. Plus, you will increase the visibility of your company with the education system and your community.
